Description

This quartz crystal ring is amazingly unique, rustic, and organic. It features seven clear and icy quartz crystal points inside of a thick copper setting that looks like liquid metal. It’s like wearing an ice castle or crystalline crown on your finger.

I create these rings with a technique called electroforming. The clear and icy crystals are painted with a fine silver backing and then set into copper. Copper is deposited over the stones over 12-24 hours using electrical currents. It creates a gorgeously organic and hefty piece with a setting that looks like animal skin or something pried right out of the earth. The copper has been given a darkened patina that contrasts with the crystalline patterns of the quartz beautifully.

ATTN: These rings are made from pure copper. Some people can experience green staining on their skin from copper. This is not an allergic reaction and it is not a sign of bad quality- it is simply the chemistry of skin (lotions, soaps, sweat, etc.) causing the copper to oxidize and temporarily stain the skin. It is easily prevented by applying a clear coat of nail polish or jewelry lacquer to the inside of the band.
