However, moissanite can pass the diamond test due to its remarkable hardness, which is second only to diamonds, with a rating of 9.25. This means that moissanite retains its brilliance and shine even after many years of wear.

When compared to simulated diamonds, moissanite has superior sparkle. Simulated diamonds, typically made from cubic zirconia, are less durable and tend to become cloudy over time, especially after extended use. As a result, moissanite is priced higher than simulated diamonds due to its durability and superior visual appeal.
