Originally, the term “angel” referred to all messengers in the Bible, but within the nine-tier angelic hierarchy, angels are regarded as “messengers” or “heralds” and serve as protectors of humans.
The legend that angels are androgynous or genderless stems from the popular belief that they change into the opposite gender of the person they protect.
There are various theories about the total number of angels, but according to the above idea, it is said that there are enough angels to accompany every human being.
