Description
These rings were inspired by a challenge I often face: one partner prefers a floral wedding band while the other wants something more subtle- but they also want their rings to match. This is a solution to that problem. One floral band plus one simple band that secretly matches on the inside.
This is a domed (or half-round), 14k yellow gold version of my popular Opposites Attract Cherry Blossom rings. The rings in this listing are sold individually. You can purchase one ring, two matching rings, or two different rings (one with the design on the outside, one with the design on the inside).
These rings have a matte finish, but I will be happy to make them with a shiny finish if you prefer. Please be sure to note any changes in the Notes To Seller field during checkout. These bands are made of 14k yellow gold. If you prefer a different metal, such as white or rose gold, please contact me for details and a price quote.
The narrower ring features the pattern on the outside and is 6mm wide. It is currently available in sizes 4-9.
The wider ring features the pattern on the inside and is 7.5mm. It is currently available in sizes 6-9.
Please contact me regarding the availability of other sizes.
Please note, I do not keep a large inventory of these gold rings. Each is made especially and uniquely for you. Returns may be subject to a restocking fee. Need more info? Feel free to check my Policies section or contact me with any questions you have!
Safely shipped to locations in the U.S. via USPS Priority Mail within four to six weeks of receipt of payment. Orders over $500 will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail or FedEx. For international orders, please note that additional customs fees may apply upon delivery.
HOW TO ORDER
The price you see here is for each ring. You can purchase one ring, two matching rings, or two different rings (one with the design on the outside, one with the design on the inside). Simply put each ring into your cart separately by indicating your preference and size from the dropdown menu. And if you have any questions about how to proceed, I’m always happy to help.
QUESTIONS
Buying wedding bands to last a lifetime can be a difficult choice. I encourage you to take a look at my excellent feedback and to feel free to contact me if you have any questions before making your purchase.
MAKE IT EVEN MORE SPECIAL
Add a keepsake box, handmade of natural wood in small batches. These boxes are a beautiful presentation upgrade for any of my wedding and engagement rings. They’re also a wonderful (and more secure) alternative to your ring bearer’s pillow or pocket. You can see one in the final photo of this listing and you can add one to your purchase here: https://www..com/listing/605643657/
(Don’t want a wooden box? That’s okay! Your order will arrive in one of my lovely little black and gold Down to the Wire Designs boxes.)
IMPORTANT
Please be sure to provide me with accurate ring sizes when ordering. Due to the nature of these rings, many cannot easily be made smaller and they can often be stretched larger by only a half size. I would be happy to send you a free ring sizer. Once you have received the sizer, you can place your order with an accurate size. Using the ring sizer is an easy way to determine your size or double-check your size if you already know it. Before purchasing, please refer to my Policies section for information on resizing and exchanges.
Please note the date you will need the rings by in the Notes To Seller field at checkout so that I can account for shipping time if your wedding date is soon. Also please write out a quick reminder of any other changes to the design that we may have discussed in emails. Having this information on your receipt is useful as I use it as the work order for making your rings.
ABOUT ME
I love what I do!
I have been making and selling jewelry for nearly twenty years now. I stumbled into jewelry while attending the University of Washington, which at the time had an excellent metal arts program (sadly, no more!) I was taking art classes to fill holes in my class schedule, and the only thing that would fit was an Intro to Jewelry class. I was skeptical about taking the class because I had no knowledge of and no interest in jewelry at the time. But I did sign up — and I have never looked back.
I was surprised to find that the basic jewelry skills came easily to me. I loved the small scale and I loved exploring traditional jewelers’ tools and techniques. Metal was the perfect medium for my skill set: patience and close attention to detail.
All of the work in my shop is mine, made from my own designs. I work alone, though I do have some of the components cast by a local Seattle company. I use these in some of my pieces in order to cut down on my time and keep them affordable. These components were designed by me and are made from prototypes that I have created myself, by hand, from metal, using traditional jewelry making techniques.

And check Pinterest for a collection of my wedding jewelry: http://www.pinterest.com/fireandskill/wedding-jewelry/ Much of this work is custom, so there are lots of things you might not normally see in my shop.
Caring for the jewelry you buy from me:
Most of the jewelry in my shop has been given a patina finish, meaning it has been darkened and then buffed so that the high areas are the color of the underlying metal while the low, indented areas remain dark. To keep this jewelry looking its best, there are a couple of precautions you should take. First of all, try to limit the exposure of your jewelry to any chemicals. Chemicals may loosen the bond between the patina and the metal and cause the patina to fade or wash away. These can include dish soaps, shampoos, or household cleaning products. Even hand soaps may include mild abrasives, perfumes, and anti-bacterial agents that may adversely affect your jewelry’s finish.
As for cleaning your jewelry, the recommended method depends on the item. My silver and brass patterned pieces have a matte finish and so can be very lightly buffed with a scotch-brite pad similar to those you might use when washing dishes. My filigree work is given a shiny, glossy finish and should be cleaned with a jeweler’s cloth which can be found inexpensively at most jewelry shops, including those at most department stores.
If your jewelry has stones, I would recommend contacting me prior to cleaning as certain stones are very soft and may possibly be damaged while cleaning. Also, since silver is a relatively soft metal, it is not recommended that you wear your rings without gloves when doing chores like gardening or working on your car, as this could leave scratches on the metal.
